Chopped Beef With Potatoes

Ingredients
  Vegetable oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Onions 3 Medium, peeled and chopped
  Cinnamon stick 1 , broken up
  Chopped lean beef 2 Pound
  Potatoes 2 Large, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
  Fresh root ginger piece 1 Inch, grated
  Plain yoghurt 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Green chile 1 Large, seeded, if desired, chopped
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Tomatoes 2 Medium, chopped
Directions

Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and brown the onions with the cinnamon.
Add the meat and stir continually until it begins to brown, 4-5 minutes.
Add the potatoes, ginger, yoghurt, chile, salt, and tomatoes.
Cover and cook over low heat for 40 minutes, until the meat is tender.
Serve with plain boiled rice and Green Lentil Dal.
