Chopped Beef With Potatoes
|Vegetable oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Onions||3 Medium, peeled and chopped|
|Cinnamon stick||1 , broken up|
|Chopped lean beef||2 Pound|
|Potatoes||2 Large, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces|
|Fresh root ginger piece||1 Inch, grated|
|Plain yoghurt||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Green chile||1 Large, seeded, if desired, chopped|
|Tomatoes||2 Medium, chopped|
Heat the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat and brown the onions with the cinnamon.
Add the meat and stir continually until it begins to brown, 4-5 minutes.
Add the potatoes, ginger, yoghurt, chile, salt, and tomatoes.
Cover and cook over low heat for 40 minutes, until the meat is tender.
Serve with plain boiled rice and Green Lentil Dal.
