Slim But Saucy Pot Roast

Ingredients
  Beef pot roast 3 Pound, trimmed of fat
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Onions 2 Medium, sliced
  Condensed cheddar cheese soup 5 3⁄4 Ounce (1/2 Of A 10 3/4 Ounce Can)
  Tomato sauce 8 Ounce (1 Can)
  Canned mushroom stems and pieces 4 Ounce (1 Can, Undrained)
  Oregano 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Basil 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

GETTING READY
1) Preheat hot oven at 475°.

MAKING
2) In a nonstick roasting pan pot roast uncovered in a preheated 475° oven till brown.
3) Pour the pan drippings and lower oven temperature to 325°.
4) Rub meat with salt and pepper. Add onions, cheese soup, tomato sauce, mushrooms, oregano and basil.
5) Cover the pan and roast meat for about 2 1/2 hours.

SERVING
6) Serve hot.
