Spicy Beef Balls In Milk Gravy
|Ground beef||3⁄4 Pound|
|Grated raw potatoes||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground mace||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|All purpose flour||1 Tablespoon|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Milk||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Mix together meat, potatoes, and seasonings.
Shape into 16 small balls.
Roll each in flour until well coated.
Brown slowly in hot butter in heavy skillet; pour off fat drippings.
Add water; cover and cook slowly for 30 minutes, adding more water if necessary to prevent sticking.
Add milk mixed with 1 tablespoon flour; cook only long enough for gravy to thicken slightly; season to taste.
Sprinkle generously with paprika.
