Kids Steak Special

  Oil 1 Tablespoon
  Minced beef 450 Gram
  Onion 1 Medium, peeled, sliced and chopped
  Beef stock 150 Milliliter (Made From A Stock Cube)
  Tomato puree 1 Tablespoon
  Flour 100 Gram
  Egg 1
  Milk 250 Milliliter
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste

Put a little oil into a frying pan - just enough to cover the bottom.
Put over a moderate heat and add the beef and onion.
Using a slice, turn the meat over and fry for about 8 minutes until the meat is evenly browned.
Add the stock, puree and seasonings.
Cook for a further 5 minutes.
Pour the meat and gravy into a large ovenproof dish.
Sieve the flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt into a mixing bowl.
Tap the middle of the egg shell on the edge of the bowl and let the egg drop into the flour.
Add a little milk and using a wooden spoon beat the batter mixture very hard.
Slowly add all the milk, beating all the time.
Pour the batter over the meat and bake in a hot oven (Gas No. 7 - 425°F - 220°C) for about an hour - until the top is golden brown.
Serve straightaway.
