Stir Fried Turnips with Beef
|Lean chuck||1 Pound|
|Turnips||12 Ounce (6 Medium Pieces)|
|Green onions||2 (Including Tops)|
Slice beef very thin, across the grain.
Peel turnips, if necessary, slice thin, and cut slices into 1/2-inch strips.
Slice onions thin.
Mix cornstarch and water.
Heat oil in wok or heavy skillet which has a lid.
Stir-fry beef, uncovered, until nearly tender.
Add turnips and continue stirring for 2 minutes, then add onions and stir for 1 minute longer.
Add salt and pepper, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Stir in cornstarch mixture, cook a few minutes and serve.
