Stir Fried Turnips With Beef

Ingredients
  Lean chuck 1 Pound
  Turnips 12 Ounce (6 Medium Pieces)
  Green onions 2 (Including Tops)
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
  Water 2 Tablespoon
  Oil 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
Directions

Slice beef very thin, across the grain.
Peel turnips, if necessary, slice thin, and cut slices into 1/2-inch strips.
Slice onions thin.
Mix cornstarch and water.
Heat oil in wok or heavy skillet which has a lid.
Stir-fry beef, uncovered, until nearly tender.
Add turnips and continue stirring for 2 minutes, then add onions and stir for 1 minute longer.
Add salt and pepper, cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Stir in cornstarch mixture, cook a few minutes and serve.
