Beef And Beer

  Stewing beef 2 Pound (Chuck, Round Or Blade, 1 Kilogram)
  Butter 60 Gram (3 Tablespoon)
  Onions 2 Large, chopped
  Garlic 3 Clove (15 gm), crushed
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Beer 300 Milliliter (1 1/4 Cups)
  Mixed herbs 1 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
  Nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon

1. Cut the meat into 1 inch (2 1/2 cm) cubes and brown each side in the butter. When brown set aside.
2. Saute onion until soft and garlic and cook a little longer. Stir in the flour and cook for a minute. Return the beef to the pan and pour in the beer. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens and begins to bubble. Add the rest of the ingredients, cover and simmer gently for 2 hours, until beef is tender. Adjust the seasoning and serve.
