Corned Beef And Cabbage
|Corned beef brisket||4 Pound|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Onion||1 Large, sliced|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Garlic powder||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Cabbage||1 Large, cut into wedges|
Cover corned beef with water in large pot.
Add onion, cloves, sugar and garlic powder.
Bring to a boil.
Cover and simmer until fork tender.
This will take about 4 hours.
Remove meat and keep hot.
Add cabbage wedges to pot.
Cover and simmer 15 to 20 minutes until cabbage is cooked.
Slice meat and arrange down center of platter.
With slotted spoon, lift cabbage onto platter along sides of meat.
