Charcoal Broiled Sirloin Steak

Ingredients
  Sirloin steak 5 Pound, 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick (trimmed of fat)
  Vegetable oil 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Red wine vinegar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), crushed
  Basil 1 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Slash fatty edge of steak at 1-inch intervals.
Place steak in a large pan.
In a bowl, stir together remaining ingredients; pour over steak.
Chill, covered, 2 to 3 hours, turning several times.
Start charcoal fire 30 to 40 minutes before cooking time.
Coals are ready when glowing and covered with gray ash.
Rub hot grill with a bit of fat trimmed from steak.
Grill 5 to 6 inches above coals on both sides, brushing occasionally with marinade.
Allow about 25 minutesibr rare, 30 minutes for medium on an open grill.
To test for doneness, make a small slash in center of steak.
