Baked Mustard Corned Beef
|Corned beef brisket||3 1⁄2 Pound|
|Fat/Salad oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Prepared mustard||1 Tablespoon|
|Brown sugar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), firmly packed|
Wash beef; cover with cold water; add bay leaves and peppercorns; bring to a boil.
Boil 5 min.; remove scum; cover kettle; reduce heat; simmer 4 hrs., or until tender.
Remove to shallow baking pan.
Dot with whole cloves.
Combine remaining ingredients; cook until blended, stirring.
Pour over meat; bake in moderate oven of 350º F 30 min., basting occasionally.
