Steamed Beef Baus with Water Chestnuts
|Uncooked rice||250 Milliliter (1 Cup)|
|Round steak||1 Pound, minced (450 Gram)|
|Green onions||3 , finely chopped|
|Ginger||1 Teaspoon, finely chopped|
|Water chestnuts||2 , finely chopped|
|Egg||1 , lightly beaten|
|Soy sauce||15 Milliliter (1 Tablespoon)|
|Sherry||45 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)|
|Green vegetable leaves||4|
|Soy sauce||To Taste|
|Chili pepper sauce||To Taste|
1 Place rice in a bowl, cover with water and soak for 1 -1 1/2 hours. Drain well and spread out on a tray to dry.
2 Combine steak, green onions, ginger, water chestnuts, egg, soy sauce and sherry; mix until well blended. Form mixture into balls about 1 1/2 inches (4 cm) in diameter.
3 Roll each ball in rice until completely covered. Place balls on green vegetables in a steamer basket, leaving enough space between so they don't touch each other.
4 Place in a steamer and steam for 30 minutes over gently boiling water. Serve with soy and chili pepper sauces for dipping.
