Stuffed Coney Islands
|Frankfurters||1 Pound (About 8 To 10)|
|Prepared mustard||2 1⁄2 Ounce|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Coney buns||10 , heated|
|Ground beef||1⁄2 Pound|
|Chopped celery||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Catsup||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Beef bouillon cube||1|
|Prepared mustard||2 Tablespoon|
|Bottled steak sauce||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Celery seed||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Slit frankfurters lengthwise, not quite through.
Broil over hot coals (or in range).
Smear each cut with mustard; sprinkle in chopped onion.
Place in buns.
Spoon on hot Coney Sauce: Brown ground beef in skillet.
Add 1/2 cup chopped onion and the celery; cook till almost tender.
Drain off excess fat.
Add remaining ingredients to beef mixture and let bubble without covering till hot.
