Oven Simmered Beef Brisket
|Beef brisket||4 Pound|
|Apple juice||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Salad oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced/pressed|
|Onion||1 Large, chopped|
|Ground ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Cornstarch||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Trim and discard fat from meat; place brisket in a roasting pan.
In a bowl, stir together apple juice, soy sauce, oil, bay leaves, garlic, onion, ginger, and pepper; pour over meat.
Cover and refrigerate until next day.
Leaving meat and marinade in roasting pan, bake, covered, in a 350° oven for 3 hours or until tender when pierced.
To serve hot, transfer meat to a platter.
Skim fat from pan juices and discard bay leaves.
Mix cornstarch and water; stir into juices.
Place over medium heat and cook, stirring, until thickened.
