|Sirloin tip roast||3 Pound (1.4 Kilograms)|
|Onions||5 , peeled, cut in 4|
|Dry red wine||500 Milliliter (2 Cups)|
|Tomato sauce||500 Milliliter, heated (2 Cups)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), smashed and chopped|
Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
Heat oil in large ovenproof casserole.
Sear beef 6 to 8 minutes over medium-high heat on all sides; season well.
Add onions and continue cooking 6 to 8 minutes over medium heat.
Pour in wine and tomato sauce.
Add garlic, seasonings and bring to boil.
Cover and cook 2 1/2 hours in oven.
