The ACFG Cooking Show presents Stefado - Greek Beef Stew recipe. This is the stew, which Yia Yia used to make in the rural villages of Greece.The stew is extremely delicious,flavorful and perfect for a wintery, sleepy evening. It is simple but takes long time to cook.
Ingredients
  Lean beef stew neat 3 Pound
  Melted butter 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Small onions 2 Pound, chopped
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Tomato paste 2 Tablespoon
  Red wine vinegar 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Garlic 5 Clove (25 gm)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon, ground
  Whole cloves 1 Teaspoon
  Bay leaves 1 Tablespoon, ground
Directions

1) In a skillet, heat the melted butter.
2) Add the meat to brown nicely on all sides. Season with the salt and place aside.
3) In a pot add the browned meat, chopped onions, tomato paste, vinegar, garlic, cinnamon and cloves. Do not stir the ingredients.
4) Simmer this covered on low heat for 4 hours.
5) Stir the stew before serving with sesame bread.
