Company Pot Roast

This company pot toast is a chuck roast recipe prepared with onions. Spiced and flavored with orange rind, this wonderfully aromatic pot roast is herbed with bayleaf and cooked slowly for a rich and wholesome taste.
Ingredients
  Chopped onion 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), melted
  Chuck roast 4 Pound (1 Chuck Roast)
  Bay leaf 1 , quartered
  Grated orange rind 2 Tablespoon
  Ground allspice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Canned consomme 10 1⁄2 Ounce, diluted (1 Can)
Directions

Saute onion in butter in a large Dutch oven until tender; add meat, and brown on both sides.
Combine seasonings and diluted consomme; pour over meat.
Cover and simmer 2 1/2 hours.
Remove bay leaf.
