Saucy Green Bean Bake
|Fresh green beans||1 Pound, bias sliced in 1" pieces approximately|
|Onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Tomato sauce||8 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Prepared mustard||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped green pepper||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Chopped pimento||2 Teaspoon|
|Shredded process american cheese||3 Ounce (3/4 Cup)|
Cook beans in boiling salted water for 20 minutes or until tender, drain.
In saucepan, cook onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender but not brown.
Remove from heat; stir in tomato sauce, pimento, mustard, salt and pepper.
Turn into a 1 quart casserole.
Cover and bake 20 minutes or until heated through at 350 F.
Sprinkle cheese atop, bake uncovered for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
