Chilli Con Carne
|Ground beef||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Onion||1 , finely chopped|
|Green pepper||1⁄2 , seeded and chopped|
|Canned tomatoes||8 Ounce|
|Chili powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Canned red kidney beans||8 Ounce (Drained)|
|Pita bread||2 (To Serve)|
Add the meat to a pan over a moderate heat and fry in its own fat, turning until evenly browned.
Add the onion and green pepper and fry for 5 minutes.
Stir in the tomatoes, stock, chilli powder and salt and pepper to taste.
Bring to the boil, stirring, cover and simmer for 35 minutes.
Add the kidney beans and continue to cook for a further 30 minutes.
Spoon the mixture into two warmed bowls and serve with pitta bread and salad.
