String Beans Or Broad Beans With Oil
|Corn oil/Olive oil||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Onions||2 Medium, sliced|
|String beans/Broad beans||1 Pound|
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm), minced|
|Green bell pepper||1 , sliced|
|Tomato sauce||8 Ounce|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
In a pan heat the oil and saute the onion until tender but not browned.
Add the beans and garlic and saute for ten minutes longer.
Stir in the green pepper, tomato sauce, water, salt and pepper.
Cover and simmer one hour or until tender.
If the liquid is absorbed, add a little more water.
If you wish, you can cook this dish a day ahead and serve it cold.
