Green Beans Supreme
|Green beans/2 (10-oz.) pkgs. frozen whole green beans||2 Pound|
|Sliced mushrooms||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm)|
|Sour cream||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Breadcrumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Grated parmesan cheese||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Snip both ends from 2 lbs. whole green beans and cook in boiling salted water until just tender about 3 to 5 minutes or, cook 2 (10-oz.) pkgs. frozen whole green beans according to directions, but for only half the cooking time.)
In a skillet, saute 2 cups sliced mushrooms, 1/2 cup chopped onion and 1 garlic clove, crushed, in 2 tablespoons butter or margarine until tender.
Stir into drained beans, together with 3/4 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Turn into a 2-qt. casserole and sprinkle top with a mixture of 1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350Â°, or until top is bubbly and golden.
