A very easy recipe for making Green Bean Casserole from scratch. I cooked this on my Big Green Egg, but of course it can be baked in oven. Perfect for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners!

Green beans 1 Pound , rinsed
For topping
All purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Panko bread crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Paprika 1 Tablespoon
Salt and pepper To Taste
Onion 3 Medium , thinly sliced
Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) ((For deep frying))
For mushroom sauce
Smoked bacon 1/2 Cup (8 tbs)
Sliced mixed mushrooms 14 Ounce ((13
Garlic clove 3 , mince
Worcestershire sauce 2 Teaspoon
Pepper To Taste
Flour 1 Tablespoon
Chicken broth 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Half and half 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Kosher salt To Taste

Directions

GETTING READY

1. Break the tips of beans and then cut in half.

MAKING

2. In a pot of salted boiling water cook the beans until tender. Then quickly immerse in ice water to stop cooking.

For Topping:

3. In a bowl, combine flour, bread crumb, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix and add sliced onion. Mix to coat well.

4. Deep fry onion in hot oil. Set aside on paper towel to drain.

For Mushroom Sauce:

5. Heat a cast iron skillet, cook bacon and then add mushroom. Cook until the mushroom start losing its moisture.

6. Add garlic, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and sifted flour. Stir and cook until the flour soaks all the moisture and coats the mushroom and bacon.

7. Pour chicken broth, reduce the heat to low and bring to a boil. Add half and half and cook until gravy consistency. Taste and add salt as needed.

8. Add beans and a couple of tablespoon of fried onion (for topping). Give it a good stir.

9. Wrap the skillet with foil, and place on preheated 375-400 degree oven. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.

10. Remove the foil, spread remaining fried onion on top, cover and cook for another 10 minutes or until crisp on top.

SERVING

11. Serve and enjoy!
