|Dried pinto beans||1 Pound, cleaned|
|Water||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Hot bacon drippings/Butter / lard||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
1. In a pan mix beans, water and onions.
2. Cover and boil for 2 hours.
3. Alternately soak beans overnight in cold water. Boil and simmer over heat for 3 hours.
4. With a potato masher mash beans.
5. Stir into it bacon drippings, butter, or lard.
6. Mix and cook stirring frequently until beans are thick.
7. Adjust seasoning.
8. Serve hot.
