Special Baked Beans
|Dried navy beans||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Salt pork||1⁄2 Pound|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm)|
|Sweet red peppers||2|
|Maple syrup||2 Tablespoon|
Soak beans overnight.
Rinse salt pork with boiling water.
Grind salt pork, parsley, onion, garlic, green pepper and red peppers with food chopper, using medium blade.
Drain beans; place in kettle.
Add salt pork mixture, syrup, catsup and cold water to cover.
Bring to a boil; reduce heat.
Simmer, covered, for 2 hours.
Drain beans, reserving liquid.
Place beans in bean pot; add enough reserved liquid to cover beans.
Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
