Green Beans Supreme

Ingredients
  Bread slice 1 , broken
  Green beans 1 Pound
  Onion 1 Small, quartered
  Butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon
  All purpose flour 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1 Dash
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Dairy sour cream 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  American cheese 2 Ounce, chilled
Directions

Place steel blade in work bowl; add bread.
Process till finely crushed, remove from bowl and set aside.
Insert slicing disk in work bowl Remove and discard ends from beans.
Cut beans to fit width of feec tube; place horizontally in feec tube to within 1 inch of top.
Slice, repeat with remaining beans.
In covered saucepan cook sliced beans in small amount of boiling salted water 10 to 12 minutes or till crisp-tender.
Drain well.
Meanwhile, place steel blade in work bowl; add onion.
Process with on/off turns till coarsely chopped.
Cook onion in 2 tablespoons of the butter till tender but not brown.
Blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
Add milk; cook and stir tilI thickened and bubbly.
Place sour cream in bowl; gradually stir in hot mixture.
Return to pan.
Stir in drained beans; heat and stir till just bubbly.
Do not boil.
Spoon into 1-quart casserole.
Insert shredding disk; shred cheese.
Sprinkle atop bean mixture.
Melt the remaining 1 tablespoon butter; toss with reserved crumbs and sprinkle atop cheese.
Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat 1 to 2 minutes or till cheese melts and crumbs brown.
