This is my green beans side dish. I include bacon, onions, butter and lots of garlic in my green beans. I love this recipe and I could eat the whole thing by myself!!
4 Cup (64 tbs), frozen
1 , diced (1 Cup)
6 , chopped to bite sized (Thick Pieces)
3 Clove (15 gm)
4 Tablespoon, divided
Seasoning/0.5 teaspoon of salt and 0.5 teaspoon of pepper
1 Teaspoon (Saucy'S)
In a small frying pan place the bacon, onion, and garlic in and set the heat to medium or low. You want to slowly cook down the ingredients so you can keep the dripping. *Do not drain, you will add the drippings in the pot with the green beans for more flavor. Cook everything until the bacon is fully cooked and the onions become translucent.
While the bacon is cooking, chopped your green beans into bit pieces. (about 1 ½ in length)
In a medium saucepan add the water and let it come to a simmer before you add all the ingredients. Once at a simmer add the green beans, butter and the pan of bacon and the drippings. Add the salt and pepper to taste. Cook with a lid on at a low heat for at least 30 minutes. I suggest an hour in the sauce pan or in a slow cooker on low heat for 4 hours. Enjoy!
