Mixed Bean Hot Pot
|Mixed beans||2 1⁄2 Ounce, soaked overnight (65 Gram, Such As Red Or White Kidney Beans, Black, Pinto, Haricot)|
|Onion||1 Small, chopped|
|Garlic||1⁄2 Clove (2.5 gm), finely chopped|
|Green beans||2 Ounce, sliced (50 Gram)|
|Broad beans||2 Ounce (50 Gram)|
|Tomato sauce||150 Milliliter (2/3 Cup)|
|Chopped basil||1 Teaspoon|
|Cheddar cheese||1⁄2 Ounce, grated (15 Gram)|
1. Drain the beans, cover with fresh cold water, bring to a rolling boil and boil hard for 10 minutes. Lower the heat, cover and cook for 40-50 minutes, until soft. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
2. Heat the oil in a small saucepan, add the onion and garlic and fry gently for 4-5 minutes. Stir in the green and broad beans, tomato sauce, water, basil and cooked beans. Season well with salt and pepper, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
3. Transfer to a warmed serving plate, sprinkle with the cheese and serve immediately.
