|Pinto beans/Null||2 Pound, well rinsed (Null)|
|Black pepper/Null||1 Teaspoon (Leveled) (Null)|
|Onion/Null||1 Medium, diced (Null)|
|Garlic/Null||1 Clove (5 gm), diced (Null)|
|Celery seed/Null||1⁄2 Teaspoon (Null)|
|Cumin/Null||1⁄2 Teaspoon (Whole / Powdered, Cominos)|
|Jalapeno pepper/Null||1 (Canned / Fresh)|
|Chili powder/Null||1 Tablespoon (Null)|
|Salt/Null||To Taste (Null)|
Place all ingredients in a large pot and cover with a close fitting lid.
Add water to cover beans and let simmer over low heat approximately 3 hr.
40 min During the last stages of simmering add salt to your craving.
In addition to adding flavor to the frijoles, the jalapeno tends to reduce the shall we say buoyancy content.
