Pickled Green Beans

Ingredients
  Green beans 2 Pound (1 Kilogram)
  Brown vinegar 15 Fluid Ounce (425 Milliliter)
  Sugar 1 Pound (1/2 Kilogram)
  Water 15 Fluid Ounce (425 Milliliter)
  Salt 5 Milliliter (1 Teaspoon)
Directions

Cook the green beans in boiling, salted water until they are tender.
Drain and pack into hot, sterilized jars.
Put all the remaining ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Set aside to cool.
Pour over the beans to within 1.25 cm./ 1/2 in.of the top and seal.
