Sweet And Sour Baked Beans
|Sliced bacon||1 Pound|
|Onions||4 Large, sliced|
|Packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cider vinegar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Ground mustard||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Canned butter beans||30 Ounce, rinsed and drained (2 Cans, 15 Ounce Each)|
|Canned baked beans||32 Ounce, undrained (New England-Style, 2 Cans, 16 Ounces Each)|
|Canned lima beans||15 1⁄4 Ounce, rinsed and drained (1 Can)|
|Canned kidney beans||16 Ounce, rinsed and drained (1 Can)|
In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp; crumble and set aside.
Discard all but 2 tablespoons drippings.
Add onions, brown sugar, vinegar and mustard to drippings; simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
Stir in beans and bacon.
Pour into an ungreased 3-qt.baking dish.
Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 1-1/2 hours.
