Chili Beef And Beans

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Shortening 1 Tablespoon (Use if necessary) (Optional)
  Chopped onion 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Garlic 1 Large, minced
  Chili powder 2 Teaspoon
  Canned pork and beans in tomato sauce 32 Ounce (Two 16 Ounce Cans, Campbell's)
  Canned tomatoes and green chilies 1 Can (10 oz)
Directions

In large saucepan, brown beef and cook onion, combined with garlic and chili powder, until tender (use shortening if necessary); stir to separate meat.
Add remaining ingredients.
Bring to boil; reduce heat.
Simmer 10 minutes; stir occasionally.
