Salted Garbanzo Beans
|Garbanzo beans||2 Cup (32 tbs) (Jack Rabbit Variety)|
|Salt||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Shortening/Oil||2 Cup (32 tbs) (For Deep Frying)|
Combine water and salt in a saucepan.
Cook and stir over medium heat until salt is completely dissolved.
Add garbanzo beans.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove pan from heat, cover and allow garbanzo beans to soak overnight.
Drain and spread garbanzo beans out in a single layer to dry at room temperature: or pat dry with a towel.
In a deep fryer, heat shortening or oil to 350°F (175°C).
Fry a few at a time for 6 to 8 minutes.
Drain on a paper towel.
