Savory Green Bean Casserole
|Oil||2 Teaspoon (Crisco)|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Green bell pepper||1⁄2 Medium, chopped|
|Frozen green beans||10 Ounce (1 Package, Thawed)|
|Canned tomatoes||8 Ounce, drained (1 Can)|
|Nonfat mayonnaise dressing||2 Tablespoon|
|Red pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Garlic powder||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Plain bread crumbs||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Heat oven to 375°F.
Oil 1-quart casserole lightly.
Place cooling rack on countertop.
Heat 2 teaspoons oil in large skillet on medium heat.
Add onion and green pepper.
Cook and stir until tender.
Add beans, tomatoes, mayonnaise dressing, salt, red pepper and garlic powder.
Heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally.
Spoon into casserole.
Sprinkle with bread crumbs.
Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.
Do not overbake.
Remove casserole to cooling rack.
