Festive Green Beans
|Olive oil||1 Tablespoon|
|Leeks||3 Medium, well rinsed and sliced|
|Red bell peppers||2 Large, seeded and cut into thin strips|
|Green beans||2 Pound, trimmed|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Tabasco pepper sauce||1 Teaspoon|
|Grated lemon peel||1 Teaspoon|
|Sliced almonds||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), toasted (Natural)|
In 12-inch skillet over medium heat, heat oil and butter; add leeks.
Cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add red peppers; cook 5 minutes longer or until vegetables are tender.
Meanwhile, steam green beans 5 minutes or until crisp-tender.
Add beans, garlic, salt, TABASCO sauce and lemon peel to skillet; toss to mix well.
Sprinkle with toasted almonds.
