Green Beans With Pimientos
|Green beans||1 Pound, trimmed|
|Unsalted margarine||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Pimientos||4 Ounce, drained and chopped (1 Jar)|
|Black pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Lemon juice||2 Teaspoon|
|Toasted sliced almonds||1 Tablespoon|
In a large saucepan, bring an inch of unsalted water to a boil; add the green beans and cook, covered, until just tender about 6 to 7 minutes.
Drain in a colander, rinse under cold running water, and drain again.
In a 10 inch nonstick skillet, melt the margarine over moderate heat; add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
Add the beans and pimientos and cook, stirring often, until heated through about 3 to 4 minutes.
Stir in the pepper and lemon juice and sprinkle with the almonds.
