Smothered Snap Beans has a great taste. Smothered Snap Beans gets its taste from beans mixed with ham or bacon. Smothered Snap Beans is cherished by non vegetarian food lovers.
  Beans/2 can snap beans 2 Pound
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Bacon/Cured ham 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Bacon grease/Drippings/lard 1 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Large, chopped

Prepare fresh beans by snapping off the ends and cutting up the beans.
Put the bacon or ham and the onion in a pot with 2 cups water, let boil 15 minutes, add the beans, boil 15 minutes longer, then add 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon bacon grease, drippings, or lard.
Cook young tender beans 30 minutes longer, older ones 40 minutes.
Canned beans may be done in 10 minutes.
