Barbecued Lima Beans With Brown Sugar
|Dried lima beans||1 Pound|
|Water||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Catsup||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dark corn syrup||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Salt||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Liquid smoke||1 Teaspoon|
|Hot sauce||5 Drop|
Soak washed beans in water in large saucepan or dutch oven overnight.
Do not drain.
Add onion; bring to a boil and simmer until beans are almost tender, about 30 minutes.
Combine all other ingredients except bacon; stir into beans and mix well.
Spoon mixture into a 2-quart greased casserole.
Put bacon on top, cover, and bake at 350Â° about 1 hour or until beans are completely soft.
