Fresh Green Beans
|Green beans||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Water||6 Cup (96 tbs)|
|Ham hock/Diced salt pork||1⁄3 Pound|
Remove strings from beans; cut beans into 1 1/2 inch pieces.
Wash beans thoroughly in cold water; set aside.
Place water in a large saucepan, and add salt pork; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer about 5 minutes.
Stir in beans and remaining ingredients.
Cover and simmer an additional 25 to 35 minutes or until beans are tender.
