Fritter Batter

  Plain flour 8 Ounce
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1
  Oil 1 Tablespoon
  Hot water 1⁄2 Pint

Sift flour and salt into basin.
Make a well in centre, add beaten egg and oil.
Add enough water to make a coating batter.
Beat until smooth.
Use to coat fish, meat, etc.
