|Chicken consomme||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
1. Preheat oven to slow (300° F.).
2. Place the barley in a heavy casserole and add half the consomme. Cover tightly.
3. Bake forty-five minutes. Add the remaining consomme, cover and bake forty-five minutes longer, or until tender. Stir in the butter.
