Chocolate Nut Bars

Ingredients
  Butter 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), softened
  Packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Grated lemon rind 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Cocoa 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ground cloves/Allspice 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Finely chopped nuts 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Semi-sweet chocolate bits 6 Ounce, melted (1 Package)
  Chopped nuts/Nonpareils / colored sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Cream butter with sugar.
Beat in lemon rind.
Combine flour, cocoa and cloves and add to butter mixture, mixing well.
Stir in nuts.
Roll the dough into long ropes, each 1/2 inch thick.
Cut into 2-inch lengths.
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake in a preheated 325° oven 15 to 20 minutes or until firm.
Cool on a cake rack.
Dip ends in chocolate, then into chopped nuts.
