Bishop s Bars
|Sugar||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Sifted flour||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Semi sweet chocolate bits||6 Ounce (1 Package)|
|Coarsely chopped pecans/Walnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Chopped dates||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Chopped candied red cherries||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Beat eggs until fluffy and pale; gradually beat in sugar and continue beating until about the color and consistency of mayonnaise.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt, add chocolate bits, nuts, dates, and candied cherries, and toss well to dredge; stir into egg mixture, then mix in vanilla.
Spread in a greased and floured 9"x9"x 2" baking pan and bake 30-35 minutes until lightly browned and mixture begins to pull from sides of pan.
Cool upright in pan 10-15 minutes on a wire rack, then cut in large bars (make 5 cuts one way and 4 the other).
