|Evaporated milk||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs), divided|
|German chocolate cake mix||18 1⁄4 Ounce (1 Box)|
|Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), melted|
|Chocolate chips||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Preheat oven to 350°.
Lightly grease pan.
Melt caramels in double boiler with 16 cup evaporated milk, stirring occasionally.
In a medium mixing bowl, blend together dry cake mix, margarine, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Pour 1/2 of cake mixture into prepared pan.
Bake for 6 minutes.
Pour caramel mixture over cake; sprinkle with chips.
Pour remaining cake mixture in dabs over filling.
Bake for 15 minutes more.
Cool completely before cutting.
