1. Place crackers in the bottom of a well-buttered 2-quart glass casserole.
2. Combine butter, brown sugar, and nuts in a 4-cup glass measure. Microwave, uncovered, at Cook Cycle 1 (power level 7) for 2 1/2 to 4 minutes, or until butter melts. Stir to blend. Pour butter-brown sugar syrup over crackers. Microwave, uncovered, at Cook Cycle 1 (power level 7) for 6 1/2 to 9 minutes, or until bubbly and thick-looking. Sprinkle chocolate pieces on top and microwave, uncovered, at Cook Cycle 2 (power level 7) an additional 2 1/2 to 4 minutes, or until chocolate melts. Spread chocolate evenly over the top. Chill until firm, about 30 minutes. Cut into bars.
