Fruited Molasses Bars
|Soft butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Molasses||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ground cinnamon||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Seedless raisins||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Pitted dates||8 Ounce, cut up (1 Package)|
|Cinnamon frosting||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream butter, sugar, and molasses and add egg, beating until light.
Add sifted dry ingredients, 3/4 cup of the nuts, the raisins, and dates; mix well.
Bake in greased and floured 9-inch square pan in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for about 35 minutes.
While warm, dribble with Cinnamon Frosting and sprinkle with remaining nuts.
Cool in pan, and cut into 32 bars.
