|Flour||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Baking soda||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Ground ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Nutmeg||1⁄4 Teaspoon, grated|
|Butter||4 Tablespoon, softened|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Unsweetened applesauce||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped|
|Raisins||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch square pan. In a medium bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
2. In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and egg with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Add applesauce and flour mixture and beat on low speed just until batter is smooth, scraping down side of bowl frequently with a rubber spatula. Fold in nuts and raisins. Turn batter into prepared pan, leveling surface.
3. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove pan to a rack, cut into 20 bars, and let cool completely. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator.
