Ingredients
  Eggs 2
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Enriched flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs), unsifted
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pitted dates 8 Ounce, cut up (1 Package, 1 1/2 Cup)
  Broken california walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Beat eggs well and add vanilla; gradually beat in sugar.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; mix with dates and nuts.
Fold into egg mixture.
Spread in greased 11x7x1 1/2-inch pan.
Bake in moderate oven (350°) 20 to 22 minutes or till done.
Cool thoroughly.
