|Brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), firmly packed|
|Sifted all purpose flour||6|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Grated orange rind||1 Tablespoon|
|Chopped nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cut up pitted dates||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Powdered sugar||1 Tablespoon|
Combine the eggs with all of the remaining ingredients except powdered sugar, and mix well.
Bake in a greased or oiled pan 8" x 8" x 2" in a moderate oven of 325ºF for 40 min.
Cut into strips about 2 5/8" x 1 1/8" and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
