Apricot Oat Bars
|Soft margarine||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Brown sugar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Unsifted pastry flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Sweetened condensed milk||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Finely chopped apricots||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), or minced|
|Rolled oats||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped nuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Cream margarine and sugar together.
Press into the bottom of an ungreased 8-inch square cake pan.
Bake at 350F for 10 to 12 minutes.
Mix the next five ingredients together and spread over the partially baked crust.
Return to the oven and bake 30 minutes.
While still hot, brush with apricot jam and sprinkle with nuts.
Cut into bars while still warm.
Cool completely and lift from pan.
