|Brown sugar||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs), packed|
|Egg||4 , separated|
|All purpose flour/Unbleached flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1 Teaspoon|
|Orange slices||1 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped, candied|
|Nuts||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), chopped|
Heat oven to 350°.
Grease jelly roll pan, 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1 inch.
Mix brown sugar, egg yolks and vanilla.
Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, orange slices and nuts.
Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry; stir into egg yolk mixture.
Spread in pan.
Bake about 20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
While warm, cut into about 2 1/2 x 1 1/4-inch bars.
