Three Layer Bars

  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  All-purpose flour 1 1⁄8 Cup (18 tbs), divided
  Egg white 1 , unbeaten
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  Baking powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Chopped nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Flaked coconut 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1 Teaspoon
  Orange lemon icing 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Combine butter and 1 cup flour.
Work until smooth.
Add only enough egg white to make the mixture hold together.
Pat into a thin layer in the bottom of a 12- x 8-inch baking dish.
Press waxed paper directly on the mixture to cover; then place a smaller oblong baking dish on the waxed paper.
Microwave at HIGH for 3 minutes.
Remove smaller dish and waxed paper.
Rotate the dish 1/2 turn.
Microwave at HIGH for 3 minutes.
Combine brown sugar, eggs, 2 tablespoons flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add nuts, coconut, and vanilla.
Spread evenly over the crust layer.
Microwave at MEDIUM-HIGH 5 to 6 minutes.
Rotate dish 1/2 turn after 3 minutes.
Let stand directly on the counter to cool.
Spread with Orange Lemon Icing when completely cooled.
