Lemony Bars

Ingredients
  Sifted all purpose flour 1 Cup (16 tbs) (For Base)
  Sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Baking powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Rice cereal 2 Cup (32 tbs), crushed to 1/2 cup
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Eggs 2 , beaten
  All purpose flour 2 Tablespoon
  Baking powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Lemon juice 4 Teaspoon
  Grated lemon peel 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.
Grease 9-inch square baking pan.
To prepare base, sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Stir in Rice Chex crumbs.
Cut in butter until very fine crumbs.
Press mixture firmly into pan.
Bake 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare topping.
Combine all ingredients.
Mix until well blended.
Pour over hot base.
Return to oven for additional 15- 20 minutes or until top is set but not browned.
Cool.
Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
Cut into bars.
